- It's kinda hard to believe that, considering just how far back computer games go, the runner game is a relatively new phenomenon. The first real endless runner game is generally considered to be Canabalt from 2009, though its inspiration can be traced back to earlier games. Since then, runner games have come a long way—and Rubberduck Journey is part of that evolution.
